Q & A: How do you get through the day? Answers from our members

by alex on October 12, 2010

Some days I feel like I just can’t get up. What do you do when you’re having a hard time?

We often have questions from our members asking for suggestions to help get us through a hard day. Here are some of the answers and suggestions:

“When I had no hope of being better, my trust in my doctor and family got me through.”

“I journaled about my inner thoughts and life circumstances. It brought me some relief and made me feel lighter.”

Attend a writing group. See our article for Creative Writing for People with Mood Disorders

“Have faith in the perceptions of others over your own.”

There are good people who want to help.

Ask someone to come over rather than forcing yourself to go out.

Watch Seinfeld, Friends or Family Guy – or your favorite TV shows. Rent or borrow from your library the whole season of episodes.

Take a short walk with someone you feel comfortable with.
